Reddit: Guide to Tall Men’s Clothing

I found this tallsome reddit post about tall mens clothing and I wanted to share it with you. It presents a great list of places to buy clothes for tall men and it’s a great supplement to my own tall shops list.

Reddit: Guide to Tall Men’s Fashion

Being an overtly tall man has it’s shortcomings (wink), particularly in the clothing options. The big and tall doesn’t work for the tall and thin. This issue has been brought up in a reddit post and the wonderful user has written a guide to help in clothing yourself or even that family member who you could never buy for before.

Check Out Tall Shops

This post is most helpful in breaking down exactly what concessions must be made and not made for anyone in this category! The sizes and styles are a hard to describe hassle and this makes it all that much easier.

The fit category is an essential part of the problem. This is most definitely the issue to start in on first for the tall athletic man. I truly love how the post stresses not to settle on any part of the fit. Always make sure to purchase clothing in just the right size.

Do not waiver any longer on the perfect torso fit with far too short of a sleeve. While fashion is brought up as a non essential factor, the user still makes poignant remarks on how to style your clothes to help you look better with what you’re working with. No baggy clothes.. and horizontal over vertical lines is a must that many do not necessarily consider!

The plight of the tall man truly comes into sight when the dreaded topic is announced to never dry your clothes!

All of these points are helpful for the problem we face as tall and lean men. What truly draws me into this article is the tall mens clothing suggestions.

Not only does this draw me in, but has brought me back time and time again to this bookmarked page, and I’ve included my favorites in my own Tall Shop List. We take a trip down every clothing a man could need.

  • T-shirts
  • Sweatshirts
  • Button-Ups
  • Pants
  • Denim
  • Outerwear
  • Shoes

Each and every clothing option we see here has multiple suggestion for brand and size to help fit the tall man in your life! We are even graced by the wonderful cheap and workable option!

While some may prefer to go for the cheaper options on the list, I tend to lean towards the higher quality ones, since I believe that you get more value for money in the end. And since we are shopping for something as niche as tall mens clothing, we have to pay a bit more for it.

The final point that this post makes is the most important and helpful in my eyes. This wonderful gentleman took the time to tally all of the offered suggestions up and assign a 5-star rating to each brand.

The wording may be bad there since no brand actually received all 5 stars.. But I do agree that there hardly is any perfect (5 star) option available in the market for tall mens clothing.

Most of the brands range 2-4 stars and they seem to appropriately fit the descriptions above. I feel that this is an essential buying guide to the tall and thin mans clothing purchase. I recommend that everyone takes a read if they find issues with shirts that barely reach their belly buttons.

Thanks for reading and have a great day 🙂

Thank you so much for compiling this list, but, I need pants, chinos/khakis in size 30 x 36 for my son who is 6′ 5″ and 145lbs. He is 15 and has to wear khakis, button up shirt & tie for school every day – any color khakis is fine, but, the ONLY ones I can find is one pair on the Lands’ End website, and they are really too wide, they do not come in a slim cut. Please, please can someone tell me where I can get this size pant? All of the options listed here only become available in 36″ inseam once the waist size is at least 34″

    Thank you!

The piece of clothing that I can’t seem to find anywhere is full length track pants!
I can find joggers (though most of those are too wide) but don’t want the saggy knees that mainly cotton joggers end up with.
I’d really like to find the polyester ‘climacool’ type track pants with at least a 34″ inside leg, preferably in black.
    Any suggestions?

I run in some Adidas running tights – they are long enough for me, and I normally use 36″ legs.

I am looking for joggers or athletic pants. My son is 17 and is 6’5″ and weighs 155 lbs. He wears jeans in a 32 x 36, but really needs a 30 x 36.

Thanks for any help you can provide!
